Band: A Freedom Unknown
Please don't give up your four essential software freedoms,
even if it is convenient to do so:-
(0) to run the program,
(1) to study and change the program in source code form,
(2) to redistribute exact copies,
and (3) to distribute modified versions
(If you are using Apple or Microsoft software, you have already forfeited some or all of these freedoms)
Who cares, it's just software... Why should anyone care?
Examples of freedom respecting software millions of others are using and you can use today instead: GNU/Linux !
awareness & operating system - freedom to boot - ability to use decent hardware - copy, read, modify, share anything in the system
GNU - libreboot - linux-libre - software with the 4 freedoms

projects I authored or make contributions to:
Significant reverse engineering works:
Coreboot - Author of DDR2 ram init (Atom Pineview northbridge)
(Allows native initialisation of pineview DRAM controllers and DDR2 - increases potential blobless candidates)
Coreboot - Author of DDR2 ram init (Intel 4 Series northbridge)
(Allows native initialisation of 4 Series DRAM controllers and DDR2 - increases potential blobless candidates)
Coreboot - Co-author of DDR3 ram init (Sandybridge/Ivybridge northbridge)
(Removes dependence on proprietary blob to initialise sandy/ivy DRAM controllers and DDR3)
